Help with identification

David, this looks very much like my Marlco spin indexer, mine has a lever to release to index it, and 2 clamps. Maybe this is an earlier version?

Thank you Chris. That’s a hell of a lot more info than I knew an hour ago! A quick Google search hasn’t thrown up any more information. It works well and is accurate so I’m happy with that.

David, I had a further look myself today, and could not find much about Marlco other than it seems WDS bought the Marlco broaching part of the business and still uses the brand today, and I suspect the rest of it has gone.

I bought mine from a stall holder at one of the exhibitions when used tool dealers could afford a stand. It is really handy and I use it all the time. Mine came with a chuck fitted which I have never removed, with inside and outside jaws.

Mine also has a chuck with it. As you say, it’s a really useful piece of kit. I suspect dad purchased it at an exhibition as well. As for tool dealers, they are becoming so rare, gutted that”the toolbox” at colyton is closed/closing it was one of the few good places within an hour drive of me. I still have some things of dads that I have not checked out yet so I’m sure to find some other “good bits”.
