Has anybody used this type of milling attachment ? It uses a quick-change tool post which I was not initially going to buy but this looks like a good idea.

I can find a 90 x 50 mini slide on Ebay UK, but it I suspect the workholding arrangement must be different.

        Your link seems kaput..

If it’s any help, you don’t want to ‘stack’ attachments – a milling slide is best if it is bolted straight to the cross-slide with the least number of ‘interfaces’ possible in the path between work and cutter; if that makes sense?/ you see what I mean..

..tho’ it occurs to me (IIRC) that many m/lathes lack an easy means of attaching a slide – anything that looks like it might be subject to flexing &/or vibration won’t be a great performer..

It isn’t based on a QC toolpost.  I have used something similar and it was very limiting.  Generally turns out hard to mount the work so get it in a suitable position for milling and the available work envelope is very limited.

The one John hain links to replaces the topslide and uses the slide sfixings so is about as rigid as you can get on a minilathe without tapping the cross slide as they don’t have tee slots.

There are less rigid ones that are held in the toolpost rather than a tool bit and they are very flexible with a lot of overhang due to the Z bracket.
