CAST IRON JOINING

I sit possible to silver solder cast Iron. If not how can two pieces be joined that is steam leak free.

It is possible. First bring teh carbon to the surface by heating to red heat, allow to cool and wire brush the surfac ewell. Then silver solder with HT5 Flux. Be carful to bring the part to an even temp.

JBWeld (original formula) can be used to fabricate steam cylinders and the like by bomding pieces of cast iron.

MMA weld with a suitable rod might be steam-tight if done well.
