Drip oiler question

I need to fit a replacement drip oiler the the ML7. Its the right thread, but sits to high to screw down on its seal. Does that matter? It sits over the bearing its meant to lube, so surely its going to work?

Brainsparks, its going to work. You could make a small brass collar so the oiler seats down on that which would tidy the job up.

You can even move the oiler to a handier position (if needed) using a threaded adaptor and a length of plastic or rubber hose. On my Myford the oiler away from the chuck was too close to the belt drive gubbins, so I lifted it (as above) with two 1/8 BSP adaptors, and it works OK.

But I still forget to turn it off …
