Anybodies guess ! but less than 4.0" ?? however for the sake of £12 why not buy one from Arc ? You will then know the product and have recourse if there is a problem

I made a backplate for somebody a few years ago. Memory tells me 75mm. I have been known to be wrong though.

It would be useful of you at least specified the collet size. Even with this the size could vary from make to make.

Based on pixel measurements from 100mm OD can't be far off 73mm.

                      .

Could be 2 & 7/8 inches then surprise

I would think a basic caliper would be the tool to pick up and use? Even s good tape measure might be close enough? Whatever it is, it may well need a backplate making to fit it quite closely. That would/should be done by careful test fitting until the spigot is just the right size.

I have an er25 version on a backplate, of course, the register is loose for fine adjustment, after all, if the register is tight, you have to put up with whatever runout each collet gives.

You can buy them with a choice of 80, or 100mm outside diameters.

                            I have both ER25 and ER32 models.

I had to make backplates to fit to my lathe. They have the advantage of allowing long material to feed through, unlike the Morse taper type ,chucks (which are more suited to holding cutters in a Mill, in my view ).
