Hi guys, I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but a search reveals nothing.

With the complete back issues of MEW now available (a fantastic idea and great resource in my opinon), is there a way to search through this database for specific articles or words of interest? For example, I have just bought an Aciera F3 and am interested in anywhere "Aciera" is mentioned in any of the back issues. There was a great article in issue 171 on rebuilding one and it's entirely possible that there may be other mentions of this mill in previous issues. Sometimes a gem of information can be found in just a few words.

      Pete

There is an Excel file with searchable data up to issue 190 (last one I downloaded)

          Colin Usher hosts it

            Hello Peter.
You may want to download MEW_Indexes, a complete and free application with strong querying capabilities from ***LINK***.
You may also be interested in the free ME_Indexes from ***LINK***.
Or another free application on miniature modeling ***LINK*** .
The querying capabilities are common to the three applications.

            Hope I helped

Thank you very much, the first link I believe is a Windows app, and I use Macs and iPads (rather annoyingly, the back issues don't display correctly on iPads BTW).

When I've gone through this in previous years I've seen a list of articles, but I wondered if there was any way to search for specific words? As mentioned, I'd currently like to find any mention of "Aciera" in any issue of MEW since issue 1. Much like I can search for the word in a pdf document for example. I'd guess that would need to be a function from the publisher, and I haven't seen that facility mentioned anywhere.

                Hello Peter.
Using MEW_Indexes with Aciera as query condition on the title I find, other than the article you refer in issue 171, only an ocurrence. The year is 2011, the month is June, the issue is 177, the page is 56, it's a Scribe a line with "Aciera Milling Machine" as title and its author is Mr. Brown.

                Hope this helps
