Removing detent plunger

I have a QCTP which I would like to fit to my WARCO BH600G. Because the QCTP was machined to fit another type of lathe I want to replace the large threaded circular nut with a full width “T” nut. The circular nut is a loose fit in the slot but will not slide out as the detent plunger assembly seems to be sitting loosely in a hole in it keeping the nut roughly centred in the slot.

How do I remove the detent plunger? As you can see from the under side there is no access to it.

I have tried unscrewing the detent but it just rotates without unscrewing. I also tried a little levering with a small screwdriver with no luck. I need a cunning plan – anyone got one?

Just a thought, but what about 'gluing' a small rod to the detent say with a drop of Araldite or plastic metal or JB weld or similar and try lifting the detent out the way when the Araldite or whatever sets? If I remember rightly the Araldite can be later removed with heat.

Have you asked Warco how it comes apart – they are usually quite helpful if you get to speak to the right person? Perhaps I would do that first!!

The ones on my lathe came out by turning upside down and giving it a couple of wraps with a plastic hammer , there may be a small burr stopping it coming out ?

Another option is to leave it there bit glue it down in the hole with loctite or the like .

Its out. Used a chippies mallet, hand held the assembly and whacked the TOP a half dozen times and out it popped. It was being held in the hole with oily foundry sand. Thanks for all comments.
