My Colchester Master in its dark damp layer on the day I rescued it! Does anyone have the change wheel plate or a decent photo of it from the slightly later Colchester Master which is applicable to mine? Cheers Jims-l500.jpgs-l1600.jpg

I will take a photo tonight if I remember, I think mine is in better shape than yours but it is the same age.it will be 24hrs before I will be able to post it as that is my time between computer use.

hopefully someone else will be able to do it quicker.

                  Hi James

as you can see I have the geared head model from this photo. There are some new bits siting in the chip tray awaiting fitment stop start E stop switch VFD etc.,

Well well, I've a '48 model, geared head, with the stop/start and reverse in the headstock leg. Nice lathe. I've made felt wipers in alloy housings for the saddle and fitted additional oilers. Also put drip oilers on the spindle bearings. Tech info is a bit lacking on the earlier models, but as I've had the machine for forty years, I did get a manual from Colchester many moons ago. It's not actually for this model, but the Dominion lathe, very similar. Nice to see the old stuff is still appreciated

                    BR, Paul
