Plus you will want to traverse the table, which is 485mm extra in width! Also a minor amount in depth

Don't forget sufficient space for access at each end of the table, over the full rectangle enclosing the table's corners in full long-travel and cross-travel in both directions.

You might not need to stand between the table-end and the wall, but still need room to manipulate the hand-wheels, position bulky work-holding, reach the drive-belts (if it's not a geared-head machine – I don't know the WM16).

              Milling-machines are greedy for space!

Yes agreed. What folks need to know is not the size of the machine but the full working envelope. I had some paperwork for my old English Mill and it gave you just that. Sadly this seems to be too difficult to do for some modern suppliers although Grizzly in America make an effort.

Hi, yes you will have to account for the table movement which is 485mm, that plus the length of the table to the ends of the handle will make 1435mm absolute minimum needed for the width, to make full use of the table travel. So a 2M width would be comfortable. Specs **LINK**

                  Regards Nick.

Do remember that you can still take up floor space under the extended table by running benches upto the edge of the stand or simply standing it on a bench so floor space will be cabinet size but working space will be more.

Same applies to the depth you only need to take up enough floor/bench to stand the base on, no problem if the handle overhangs the front, I have the SX2.7 on a 500mm deep bench yet it's depth is over 600mm.

Hi, this is the stand that Warco recommends **LINK** which gives the actual footprint as 355mm W and 432mm D but the tray is 520mm W and 487mm D. Which should give you some idea of a minimal size bench, if that is what you will be using. But as Jason says, it doesn't matter if the handle over hangs.

                      Regards Nick.

Wm14 Mill thanks to all for valuable info. received. One more question does any know the hole pitch for securing this item to a stable work bench. The base tray does indicate this information. Thanks to all again B Reilly By Glasgow
