      Merlin Tools have just listed some rather large Taps and Dies, on ebay, at proportionately large prices.

          I made some 5" x 16 tpi taps some years ago for cleaning gland nuts up on hydraulic rams.

          The external thread was dealt with by using thread files.

          No one made these[ expected ] but a new gland nut was very expensive and it saved us a lot of money but it was the convieniance that was worth more.

              These ones are HSS … the mind boggles !

              I couldn't help wondering if the Chinese have an equivalent of "April Fool" … or whether someone had mis-read the units on the drawing.
