Myford like, say Pultra, made tons of interesting stuff, some of it genuine one-offs and beautifully made
The rarity is because much of it was worked 16+ hours a day from the 40s to the 60s by manual labour which was often only semi skilled and doing "piecework" to pay the bills as they rolled in
In a piecework environment the main gripe was getting your cutting tool resharpened so you could whack out as many bits as possible before the 6pm blower went off, and as long as the machine kept going then it was "fine."
Put simply, both man and machine were worked half to death
