      .

I did not even know these existed. **LINK**

So had a nosey on Lathes.co **LINK** where there is 3 pages about them.

Looks a sturdy job that would make a good conversion to a standard lathe with a bit of work.

          That looks seriously rugged, Nick

… somehow all the better for having the hydraulics stripped off !!

Myford like, say Pultra, made tons of interesting stuff, some of it genuine one-offs and beautifully made

The rarity is because much of it was worked 16+ hours a day from the 40s to the 60s by manual labour which was often only semi skilled and doing "piecework" to pay the bills as they rolled in

In a piecework environment the main gripe was getting your cutting tool resharpened so you could whack out as many bits as possible before the 6pm blower went off, and as long as the machine kept going then it was "fine."

Put simply, both man and machine were worked half to death

Small Watchmakers / Gunsmiths / Model Engineers Lathe. Super Adept.

Is there anything you're not telling us Neil….

(I would be really interested in seeing how you cut a breech block on a 5 inch naval gun with a super adept)

That would be the Super Duper Adept — even rarer than the Myford in the OP.

                  .

The 'Adept door stop' is used in vast numbers I hear as nothing else does the job so well.

A hole in the market perhaps.? cheeky

The one to avoid is the "Pooper Scooper Adept".
