Hi I have posted a picture in the album of a gear cutter relieving tool I started to make about 40 years ago, just found it and would like to finish it but can't remember which model engineer I got it from. or author Do any members remember the article could have been from about 1950 upward. also thanks to the members that answer my photo query.

          Hello Bernie.

Using the **ME_Indexes** application with criteria “reliev” I find the following articles plus some more having nothing to do with gear cutters.

          Hope this helps.

          Best regards

              Hi Bernard,

Is it the 'Euereka'? if so I have a set of drawings which I would be prepared to share, just send a private message,

              Best regards

              Terry

P.S. Just noticed your picture and it's not the Eureka, so ignore this post. Sorry,

              Terry

                Hi Bernard,

If I'm not mistaken this looks a lot like the attachment described by 'Duplex' in an article in ME Vol 100, Issue 2508, part of his series on "Gear Cutting in the Lathe".

                duplex gear relieving attachment.jpg

                Best regards,

                Vijay

I am away a few days aweek this time of the year.. Thanks agian. I will drop you a line after I have read up the articles. All the best
