Hi everyone, is it me or apart from two articles it is all Loco's from our new team, Could our new team not have broadened the articles to involve other aspects of ME or are we going to call the new look mag Model Loco's.

I do hope that the new team will take these comments on board as constructive and hope that you all have every success.
        What do you think…

Funnily enough I got my copy this morning and thought the same thing, its getting to be all loco's .

I know they can only use what they have but surely they must have something other than loco's.

I've been getting M.E for years now but I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my sub.

          Roy.

I think that it would be reasonable to give the new team time to get sorted out and organised, probably about three months and then decide which way you want ME to go and in the interim period send a constructive email to Diane.

I think the editorial team are interested in other than locomotives, at least from published articles, and published interests. Not having seen the latest issue or two, I can't directly comment, but I'd suggest giving them some more time to settle into the position, and see what comes out.

Across the pond, and magazines take the slow boat, it seems!

This is nothing new, if you look back in ME over the years there have been times when again it was locos-locos-locos. I am sure that Diane will try to keep a good balance, but as always, the Editor needs copy from others, so keep the alternative articles flowing in.

Well mine has not arrived yet but looking at the contents page in 4450 I can count three non loco subjects – Dake, Lister and steam reg for boats.

And by the looks of it all the Loco builds are a continuation of what was started by the old editorial team.

As Sandy & John say give Diane & Co a bit of time to settle in and saort through what copy they have.

If you will bear with me…..?

There are currently eight locomotive series on the go. They all have to run their natural course. The new 'team' (me) can only introoduce policy change bit by bit. It was never going to happen in the first issue.

Please be assured that there will be a return to Workshop Topics very soon and I have a number of interesting I/C engine articles waiting for their turn. I am hopeful that we will have a major new traction engine series starting up in the summer and, as you know, anything to do with stationary steam will always catch my eye!

Please, tell me what you like. If you see something interesting, try to persuade the maker to write about it. That's what I have been doing all day at the Manchester Exhibition…. which was a great show, by the way

Will look forward to the Traction engine. While I have nothing against loco's its alway nice to be able to run something in the garden or shed and not have to have a length of track to do it.

On a different note why when a new build starts is there issues where they seem to be dropped for a issue or two ?

best wishes to the new team

It will be nice to have some Road Steam back in the mag, is it the Wallis & Steevens?

I was at Manchester on Saturday, met several friends, a couple of newsletter editors and saw some great stands and models. I bought a copy of the Gauge 1 newsletter, and have already been in touch with its editor, Bill Read. i was pleased to see the Meccano and Lego stands, thats a good way of getting the kids interested. The show was busier than last year, possibly because it was only two days, but I didn't think much of the catering.

                            Regards

                            Geoff
