Quite often i get a build of of alloy on the cutter and have to stop the job to remove the build up.

so would a dab of thread cutting oil help, or something else.

don't want to flood cool due to mess

                Avoid coated cutters as well.

Make sure your cutter is sharp.Yesterday I had to take a centre punch and hammer to mine to remove the build up.

                    + 1 for WD 40.

+2 for kero or WD40. My preference is for kero. Experience with WD40, in other applications suggests that WD40 leaves a sticky gooey mess, as a result I haven't used it much as a cutting aid. It is however brilliant at water displacing. Kero, or paraffin is very good on al. alloy, and as others have said, uncoated really sharp cutters work best.

                      best of luck!!

                      cheers

                      Bill

If You can buy cheap penetrating fluid at auto jumbles etc. it works well. The cheaper the better.
