Hi, I am new at this so please be patient with me. I have received an alert email from someone responding to one of my ads. Fortunately the sender included a phone number and I spoke to them , so all appears well so far and its not a scam. However there is no message in my inbox on the website from this sender and I am not sure if he received a message when I chose the reply option on my private email. The email header is from [email protected] .

Have I missed something in setup or profile?. I sent myself a test message and it appears in the inbox. It is the only one. what am I doing wrong. Thanks.

No messages appearing in inbox, but alert email sent to private email.

When someone responds to a classified by clicking "send e-mail" it will appear from Alerts@………….. in your inbox and automatically puts the persons e-mail into the text. The problem is quite a few people delete that text and just type what they want to say so their e-mail contact details are lost. You won't get areply from Alerts@………

Your Message inbox here is completely separate to e-mails connected with classifieds.

Hi, Jason, thanks for a speedy response. The reply email was devoid of any details, so must have been wiped as you say. Thanks for the help.
