Hi All,

I have been trying to source a piece of Meehanite plate in size 210x130x30 but no joy yet ,does any one know where I can obtain it.

Usually I get my steel free ,but the brothers employers don't use Meehanite or any type of cast iron If I need anything other than EN24T, EN16T or the like then I use M Machine but no luck with the Meehanite/ Cast iron.

Does it have to be plate? could you use a 30mm slice off the end of a rectangular bar in which case College Eng may be able to help.

I should have mentioned that I also tried College engineering ,but they replied that they do not stock anything that size.

Mallard say they do plate or you could get it out of a billet of 250mm dia.

Excellent company and no specific minimum order size .

As is usual with this type of supplier there is an excellent website but no catalogue as such – you Email your requirements and they will quote back .

Be prepared for a shock on price though .

Just got the price through from West Yorkshire steel and yes, I was a bit shocked, but at least I can get the material that I need ,that's the main thing.
