Looking for tufnol supplier – 25mm by 4 or 5mm by 2000mm (for the hatch runners on a sailing boat). Any ideas where this might be got from?

I can see sheets and rods online, but not much in the way of strip.

          Hi There

40 years in industry / engineering and I have never seen strip.

We always cut it out of sheet or bar.

          regards david

That must mean there is someone out there who would cut me a couple of strips, perhaps? Who uses tufnol? If I knew that I could hunt it down.

I was looking for a bit of Tufnol this morning. Here's a piece on Ebay which you could cut into strips. Only 2.5mm thick, though I suppose you could double it up.

Yes, saw that. It is a possibility but would prefer something more robust if I can get it.

M-Machine do Tufnol (Cut from Sheet) in 5mm thick.

They will usually cut to the size you require.

I use a lot of tufnol strip as insulators and brush ring gear on electric motors.

The link Jason gave is the company I use and I have found them to be the most cost effective company and believe me when you are paying the bills you do look laugh

I keep every thickness in stock up to 12mm but unfortunately I only order in 600mm or 1M lengths max as i never have to do long peices and it's easier to store in 1M lengths than 2M

I will measure up properly today. I think I can use two pieces end to end. Thanks for all the advice – very helpful indeed.
