Garden Spray Head Nozzle

Last time that I used the garden fence preserver spray, I cleaned it and lost the brass spray nozzle in the grass. I've tried to make a new one from memory but I only get a jet of liquid rather than a spray. Does anyone know what it's supposed to look like. I've tried looking on-line but the information all looks far too technical for what i'm looking for.

Ah, thanks, no. That's far too nice. It's a cheap B&Q one. The name is 'Dial'

I can make the outside ok by measuring the housing but it's the actual shape of the nozzle hole that's defeating me.

Thanks for confirming. Presumably no spares are available (assuming one could get on the B&Q website which I believe is very busy).

Things that are "kicked into the long grass" do sometimes reappear!

Look on line for a metal detector design. Then build it in the workshop and take it into the garden…

Whilst the metal detector might make an interesting project it is unlikely to find the spray nozzle as it will be plastic! Try looking *** HERE *** for some ideas. Might be able to re-engineer the end of a domestic cleaner spray bottle.

Turn on your metal detector and adjust the sensitivity – at which point you will see where it is!!

Thanks everyone a metal detector is certainly a 'left field' idea but I'm not dismissing it yet

The plastic spray bottle nozzle idea is one I might try first to see if it will handle the fence preserver.

Not the same make, but the Hozelock site has spares – although not at the moment due to Covid19 – and the manual has cutaway drawings that might help.
