Nutating engines seem to be an ongoing engineering subject, like wankels
Nice skills
Current thread on MEM about a nutating disc steam engine which will be an interesting project.
There's also the very simple 'twisty' type, which itself was a re-invention of an engine in ME in the 1940s.

David Urwick described a hot air engine with Nutator drive in MEDec1980, Jan 1981 and June1982.
