EN24T  is also suitable depending what size you are making.  Can you give us dimentions and sort of contruction or is it one piece made.

            Thanks for the replies

It’s a two cylinder horizontal four stroke
            <p style=”text-align: left;”>30mm stroke, cut from solid</p>
If I went down the built up route would loctite and pins be OK or silver solder

I mostly use EN8 if cutting from solid for IC engines. If built up Precision ground mild steel for the round bits and EN3 or EN32B flat bar for the webs. Always silver solder the IC engines particularly hit and miss as they can have quite a kick when they hit. Soldered this one up before lunch today 12mm PGMS and 50 x 12 bright flat EN32B

I did take on a couple of part built hit and miss engines where the previous owner made a big point about the crankshafts being from solid EN24, biggest pile of poop I’ve come across and they came close to going in the bin. He was a respected builder of full size. But I will say they don’t bend easily as I had a job to get them straight.

                Hi Jason

Do you get any issues with warping after silver soldering or do you true up after?

I find they stay quite true and rarely need anything else.
