Peter,
Interlink Express and DPD are part of the same group. They are part of a franchise operation, and the delivery service is only as good as the franchisee in your local area.
From a sellers point of view, overall, their service is good, but depending on which area of the country the franchisee is in, their charges to us – the seller, change, depending on through put, franchisee, and local area prevailing rates…Rates in our area are quite high!
Its a fine balancing act we have to play, based on weight of parcel, value for money, service, competition, in deciding who we will use to send out the goods. As mentioned earlier, we will be experimenting with some ideas for logistics starting near end of next week, relating to low value, low weight parcels with Royal Mail, for U.K. mainland parcels. It will probably not effect the current Interlink/DPD service for larger weight and value parcels, for the time being.
