Allchin Boiler – cylinder reinforcing plates

Hi,

Are there two 10 swg cylinder reinforcing plates sandwiched together in the Allchin boiler?

Should the reinforcing plate be cut out leaving a 1" square in the middle of the plate and the four strips?

Just trying to fully understand each boiler part.

There is an outer plate with a rectangular hole in it that gives more metal for the cylinder studs to screw into and then there is a smaller plate that reinforces the round hole that allows steam up into the cylinder cavity.
