      Hi all

I had a few issues of Model Engineer years ago and let them slip away.

Was there a regular feature in the back of the magazine called "Trouble at T'mill"?

If so, were the articles taken from a book, or were they ever published together as a book?

They were great reading and I would dearly love to get hold of them.

      Thank you.

I was able to find out that the articles were in issues 3895 through 3915. They were authored by Fred Copeland.

Does anyone know if these articles were ever published elsewhere? I was unable to find anything out about the author.

          Thanks for any help.

          Rick

The articles were about a Belper mill (not too far from here). Add 'belper' to your google search anmd things get easier.

Fred also passed on some memories to the Derby Telegraph HERE: There is even a photo of Fred – the ME article only had sketches. It's a less technical account, but paints more of a picture of the people at the mill.

There is a also a second article by Fred on the site.

Many thanks to "Stub Mandrel" for all the info above. I'm smiling as i sit here looking through just some of the search results.

              Thanks again.

              All the best,

              Rick
