What’s the best diesel stabiliser/ additive for car?

Due to lockdown and other things I’ve not been using my diesel fiat panda for a while not since last September. It’s got nearly a full tank and I’m concerned the diesel is getting stale. I’ve heard that stale diesel can be bad for the engine. The fuel smells ok from the filling nozzle. And the engine ran fine last week, no misfiring or smoke.

Are there any good diesel stabiliser or additives that are recommended to keep diesel from going stale. For example will regular Redex diesel additive be sufficient?

When I was looking into fuel stabilisers for petrol, which does go off, StarTron seemed to get the best reviews.
I note that they also do a diesel version. http://www.starbrite.com/startron
Just beware that in the UK it seems to come in different concentrations, so the more expensive version might work out cheaper.

One issue with diesel is that of "Diesel Bugs" which grow/multiply in the tank in the presence of moisture.
All seems fine at first when you set off, but the black gunge gradually blocks the filter(s) leading to fuel starvation.

Any marine chandlers should be able to supply something to kill them off if you end up with a fuel infection.
I would assume that the StarTron additive will keep them at bay as well.

I don't think you have much to worry about with the fuel, its the battery that will need looking after. I have a DPF in the exhaust system of my 1.7 Corsa, andI took it for a 200 mile run the day before the lockdown. Fortunately, it did a regen during the drive which was all on motorways. At about 75mph, the fuel consumption suddenly dropped from 60 to 28-35 for about 12 miles.
