Only fit a dash cam if your prepaired for the footage to be used against you in court the event of an accident or any incident. Works both ways.

Yep my daughter had pretty much the same experience. Driving my car she tapped the rear bumper of a lady turning right who had changed her mind and stopped. No damage to either car and no-one hurt.

A year later a firm of solititors sent a form letter reporting the lady had a whiplash injury with a supporting list of symptoms. This turned out to be a word for word copy of the list they have on their website. The claim later was supported by a doctor, hired by the sollcitor, who – guess what – reported a list of symptoms also identical to that on the web site. A rubber-stamp job.

Interestingly my insurance company had no interest in fighting the claim, perhaps because they can recover their costs by inreasing premiums. It could be the increased cashflow resulting from these payouts results in higher profits across the industry. What annoys me most about this scam is the Doctors and Solictors involved. The professional enablers must know full well that they are processing fake claims; it's plain dishonest. It is very easy to pretend to have whiplash and almost impossible to disprove. Money for old rope.

I change debit cards every 11 months to stop the automatic payments.
Moved house, notified the insurance thar I’d moved and wouldn’t need the policy. Then later got a bill for the 3 months it had run over

and I'm sure we settled in full and final payment.

Surely your insurance company should have signed that off properly???

My advice to anyone taking ANY insurance nowadays is to use a broker, these out-on-yer-own deals are great… as long as you never need to make a claim
