getting a mill over to Ireland

HI Guy`s

I have been looking at the Warco wm16 or the wm18 mill they seem a good mill for a beginner.The other day i saw a picture of a Boxford vm30 i really liked the look of these big old solid cast iron lumps the only problem is that they cant be found in Ireland.I have seen a couple on E-bay but don`t have a clue on how i would get it over to me in Ireland.does any one know of a way or would i be better off sticking with my first choice

I can do a bit more than a picture for you in the form of a video.

Since I got it I have generally been very happy with it and it has done all I have asked. Just wish it had a quill on it though and a little more 'head room.

Consider taking the Ferry from Rosslare Harbour to Fishguard, and enjoy a road trip to pick up the machine of your choice. I travelled across country in my van with my Wife to inspect, purchase, and pick up our Tom Senior mill; we made a mini holiday of it.

As for getting it to the Emerald Isle. Get the supplier to secure it firmly to a stout pallet and then let a delivery company that delivers to Ireland do what they do.!

Try to get one that delivers on a waggon with a tail lift though.

I dont have a van and to hire one only puts the price of the mill up

and does any one know of a good company that will deliver to Ireland

They gave it to a lorryman and I had it in Denmark 5 days later for 120£ in postage

Company called " Kays" delivered my shaper was on a solid pallet and bolted down, big lorry with tail lift plus one of those handraulic low level trollies ( don't know what they are called) popped it staight in me garage,very helpful,don't know if they deliver to the Emerald Isle but maybe worth a look

Michael from Kildare here.

I bought a Optimum bf 20l mill from Millenium machinery in Athlone , €2000 , and it is a great little mill , I also purchased the Allendale Dro kit for a mill although €500 + it is worth it

I also have a Myford Super 7 with the Allendale Dro and a drive converter which is ideal for the hobby

I buy in all types of machinery from the UK and a pallet from inside Manchester/Birmingham/Bristol is about €200

The other side of that line is twice that
