As you know I had some problems with my Warco 250 lathe – and I think it’s very important that credit should be given where it is due. I was unable to rectify the problem and the lathe was subsequently returned to Warco.

Warco did not question if I was correct, and gave a replacement lathe without argument or fuss.

Much to my embarrassment, I had a chat with Warco today and they have found the original lathe to be fine and that leaves me feeling a bit embarrassed. I can report that last night I could consistently use the new lathe to turn a bar of 35cm length with a taper of less than 0.01 mm (i.e. better than my micrometer could measure).

I did have the minor problem that the speed display on the new lathe was dicky (missing bars on the display). I reported this to Warco and a replacement arrived the next day. So thank you again to Warco.

Anyway, the motto of this story is that for anyone contemplating buying a new lathe Warco will look after you.

Moderartors – As I want this post to focus on Warco sorting me out and not the technical details. Please could you lock this post.
