Hi there, in an ever moving on-line world, are there any physical shops with staff who know their stuff in the Bristol / Glos / Bath area.

I am a newbie and have just bought a nice ML7 but need tooling / lubricant / oiler / some materials / general consumables etc etc to get me going.

      Thanks

      Simon

Yoiu could try Gloster (that's how they spell it) Tooling in Quedgeley, Gloucester. Also, Toolco Ltd, which someone has asked about in a recent post, are in Stroud.

I think Gloster have a real as well as an on-line existence. I know nothing at all about Toolco, apart from their location.

G&S Supplies a little way down the M5 into Somerset. Run by a very experienced and helpful Geof Stait.

cromwells on the feeder for tooling (online or pop in and grab a catalogue)

              gr fasteners (avonmouth and stroud)

fred powells metal (on the feeder) sell in full legnth and have a min order of a tenner(this was a couple of years ago) so ring armed with a list of steel you want it's suprisingly cheap

durbin metals in yate (all sorts they have offcuts as well)

              all the above are online

I think he's probably referring to Feeder Road in Bristol ( behind Temple Meads Station) home to a variety of mini industrial estates.

                  Regards, Martin.

If you are near Bath, try Avery Knight and Bowlers near the old Green Park station

I also run an engineering business near Trowbridge and have a lot of surplus material/ equipment that might be of use ( mild steel/better steels/brass/copper/cast iron/pipe and fittings and tooling)

Ring 07860 247582 if you need anything

Find the nearest Buck and Hickman trade counter . Reasonably helpful and they can supply a huge range of engineering goods on basis of order one day collect the next . They also have a vast website so you can browse for hours before personal visit .

Hi there, I have bought various equipment from Gloster Tooling in Quedgley. I have ordered over the phone and collected the items from their address to save on postage. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. Always very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
