        Hi, I have a Mitutoyo digimatic calliper that I bought about 30 years ago. Recently it's stopped working much to my chagrin. I think it's a battery contact problem, it looks as if one of the contacts has broken. Does anyone know it it''s possible to get a replacement part please. It comes up with the message 'error 05'. It does work if I press the battery down. Thanks.

          Perhaps ask Mitutoyo 'Spare & Repairs' …

          They have a UK facility (details on their web site), and I presume they will also have them in other major markets.

          Their Japanese site claims to have parts lists available

              Thanks , I've chatted with them online and they say it's obsolete so no spares. Does anyone know where i could get a tiny contact to suit the LR44 battery?

                Check around on line for the error 05 problem. Some suggest dirt on the rack/sensor may be implicated.

                Worth making sure the battery is good. If holding battery down works, then maybe some packing either above battery or below the lower contact might help…

                  I've fixed it ! I found a very small stainless compression spring which I cut down and wound round under the contact. It provided just enough contact pressure and it worked. I don't know how long for but it was a contact problem.
