As the local decent lathe search is drawing a blank and I am wasting good workshop time I was looking at the Warco WM240B. Thinking that the belt drive might be a more reliable option and more like a "traditional" machine, but one I can have now without having a 500 mile round trip to view something. Any thoughts or do I just put my faith in electronics and take my chances?

Given your location, Paul … it might be worth having a chat with Bede Tools : **LINK**

I have never dealt with them, but do look at the site occasionally.
