I bought a Prazi SD400 lathe back in the 1990's, it came with an incomplete

set of collets that I'd like to fill in, but I don't seem to find them anywhere,

specs are: draw-in collet with external threads

body 16 mm, nose 24.5 mm, nose angle 20-deg, OAL 74 mm,

thread is 16 x 1.5 mm, actual OD of threads is 15.8, they are flat-topped

its not a Schaublin F16, as those have the wrong thread and nose angle

its not a Deckel 16, those have a 1.2mm thread, and OAL is too long

I have consulted the Crawford Collets literature that someone scanned in and

posted to this site, and also a similar catalog by Hardinge, all to no avail,

so any additional pointers will be appreciated.

      Peter Lawrence.

            AHHA, its DIN 6341, K16, 330E,

which I found by emailing a german collet company, since Prazi is german/polish,

its not in their catalogue but one of their techies recognized it.

googling "330E collet" turns up two (!) companies that still carry it.

I'll order a couple to fill in my collection, and let folks know how they fit.

Thanks for the information Peter, I suspected that the answer would lie in the DIN system somewhere – the smaller Hobbymat/Prazi/Saupe Sohn machines with which I am more familiar never seem to have been supplied with draw-in collets and instead used a small spindle-nose chuck taking DIN 6343 F17 125E collets..
