I have found two lengths (3/4" x 1/8" x 1/16" x 6&quot of parting off blanks branded Osborn UK which must be 50 or 60 years old. Anyone know the company and/or quality of their products?

I have several milling cutters made by Osborn UK, old but still had the original wax coating. My first used and favourite cutter is the 1/2" Osborn. I think I have been spoilt, the new Asian ones I bought are terrible in comparison.

Remember Osbourn very well from the '60's, they also made HSS lathe tools designated VG always charcoal black colour and very tough, not sure of the spec now although I still have some and they defiantly surpassed "normal" HSS for performance on tough steels.

Another product was T32 drills [ "treatment" maybe? ] these were again superior in performance on tough materials, they were standard jobber drill length but with a short flute length, similar to todays spotting drills, also charcoal grey in colour.

Very good cutting tools, but IMO they never quite matched the quality of presto or dormer. They also made other item such as collet chucks which where up there with the best.
