        Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right place, but I thought we were going to have a dedicated place where we could recommend suppliers?

Anyway just want to share my experiences with you.

Last Thursday I sent an email with a small list of material requirements (steel, brass etc), a couple of hours later Lynn emailed me the quote as well as a link to their ebay shop of off cuts.

I subsequently ordered an offcut from their ebay shop on Friday and it arrived Saturday!

I then phoned Monday and confirmed and paid for my main order, and it arrived Wednesday!

Both parcels arrived despite the current fuel problems and driver shortages.

So I can fully recommend M-Machine metals….and no I am not the MD, just a happy customer who will always use them in the future.

All the best to you all

        Derek

Problem with having a "Dedicated place" for fast deliveries is the expectation of "Instant gratification" from ALL suppliers on a next day delivery or they receive a low score. Some kick and scream at private health care patients "Jumping the queue" BUT a parallel scenario has been generated by paying extra for a speedy delivery of our bits. I ALWAYS click "Free delivery" box when ordering as my life won't come to an end if whatever doesn't hit the mat smouldering. I ordered a pair of slippers on Tuesday night, free post, which the Ad said Saturday delivery, was informed today they will arrive Friday before 3pm., would have cost an extra £3 -£4 for a runner with cleft stick to deliver Wednesday! I'm a Yorkshireman so go figure. Couple of months ago, I ordered some bits that fitted into a small Jiffy bag on free post from an address about seven miles away from me, took a week to arrive, certainly slowed the job down but my world didn't collapse. Be thank full they arrive, at least one M E advertiser was notorious for his dispatches regularly "Falling out the back of the post van".

            Regards Ian.

              Thanks for the link MichaelG

I was just surprised how quick the delivery was…I was expecting a week or so…as you say Circlip, life won't end if you run out of a bit of round 1/2 ins BMS for a couple of weeks !

The ebay offcut was free delivery, yet it arrived next day. I didn't even know what it was at first!!!

              All the best

"Free" delivery on ebay items etc is not really free it is included in the buy it now price. That is why it often becomes cheaper if you buy more than one or have a few items in a basket as most of the delivery firms base their costs on weight so you can post several items for the same cost as one provided they are within the weight band.

I must admit being plesantly surprised when a length of left-hand ACME bar arrived from HPC a few days before I was expecting it!

They'd none in stock so had warned me it may take a week or so – I was not in a tearing hurry so it would not have mattered.
