The LED light is part of (supplied with) the machine Robert. I don’t have a good photo of it – it’s black anodised, so doesn’t really stand out. This lamp on a similar Seig machine appears to be the same though (photo from Little Machine Shop’s website in the US).

The similar guard on the 2.7 also got in the way. Maybe look at something that can slide up and down as well as hinge as that works well on my old X3 and being that it is always there you are more inclined to use it.

        Hi Jason,

Currently, the (vertical) arm the screen is mounted on is too long, just removing the screen helps but isn’t a perfect solution. I was thinking of replacing it with a horizontal arm that wouldn’t obstruct the spindle depth and which had finger screws to hold the screen in place. I hadn’t thought about a ‘sliding’ mechanism. I’ll have to have a think about it (coffee always helps!)  🙂

PS Did you find out where your milling book stocks had gone to?

PPS Feeling a bit guilty this morning – had another binge on the ARC site, more goodies on their way (again!)

        Regards,

Are you thinking of the early 2.7 machines as the X3 did not have membrain switches.

Its definitely an X3 Digi Super and it has membrane switches. It came from Axminster.

As Robert has said ” it depends on the light.” Though by providing the radio with a better aerial may work and worth a try.  Change to a 12V halogen bulb and a simple transformer set up will cure it. Far less efficient and it gets hot. Noel.

The construction of the work light precludes easy fixes like clip-on ferrites. Some disassembly required.

I also placed a order (60% off) on Arc Euro last night. This morning I realised that I had nissed off one die. Postage is £5 so I topped off with a “few” cobalt drills…….

                  Robert.

                    Thanks Robert.

If I can access the cable inside the column and place the choke there, will that be near enough, or does it have to be right by the lamp itself?

                    Regards,

You can try inside the column. Depends if the source of the noise is the power supply or the LED head.

What radio has the problem AM/MW or FM/VHF?

                      Robert.

Might just be the ones coming from Sieg at the minute as my 2.7L has the silver panel and real push button switches too.
