I recently saw, on one of our advertisers websites, a set of 1/4" thick steel angles in increments up to 30 degrees, to place in machine vise jaws to set work to a specific angle. Comes in a red plastic box for about thirty pounds. Just what I want. But I can't find them again. Can anyone please point me in the right direction before I go barmy?

            Hi Maurice,

Arc Eurotrade list them, under 'precision angle blocks'. But out of stock at present. Sorry, can't post a link from here.

Yes, thanks gents, that's what I want. Actually knowing the right name of what you are looking for is half the battle isn't it? Thanks again,

Or get one of these digital angle gauges – picture from my Acute construction thread.

SiP brand in red boxes, MSC and a few others do them

The various makes do differ in price and accuracy as with anything else, sip +_ 30 sec, cheaper +- 10mins and who knows what from the ones that don't give an accuracy

I have a digital angle gauge but it never seems to give good repeatability. Also the bulk of it often makes it difficult to use when setting something in the vice.

Do you have a small sine bar ? I made my own from 1/4 degree to 15 degree then 20/25/30/40/45.

Mine are ground but milled would be close enough for most jobs.
