I put a post on here a couple of months ago asking what was best digital caliper.

The consensus was Mitotoyo, so was duly put on my santa/birthday list (my birthday is today) guess what, a nice new Mitotyo caliper from my loving wife.

The real point of this post is to say how impressed she was with Machine DRO service, speedy delivery and e-mails keeping her informed of what was happening.

Well done to them, a happy wife is a happy husband..

          .

I have dealt with them a few times. Always a positive and speedy service.

I also recently bought a Mitutoyo caliper from them. There were others advertising the same item on 'the auction site' a tad lower in price. I however decided to still buy from DRO as I knew I would get the 'real thing' off them.! That auction site is awash with fake Mitutoyo stuff.

I have received excellent service from DRO. I recently purchased a left hand digital calliper (although I am right handed) for use when measuring work held in the chuck. The calliper is excellent but takes a little bit of getting used to.

For my main calliper I now use a Starrett IP67 waterproof model and find it truly excellent. I have a couple of elderly Mitutoyo ones that have both eventually produced transient results mainly due to the design of the battery compartment which could be better. Both work better with silver batteries.

              Hi Lambton

Off topic I know but curiosity has got the better of me… is your avatar the 'Penshaw' monument / folly on the way up to Sunderland / Newcastle ?

              George.
