Reviving an old thread. My Ultrasonic cleaner has died. It powers on okay, heats up okay, appears to start on the timer and switches off again after appropriate time but I do not get the ZiZiZi noise it used to emit. No bubbles or cleaning.

I came across this thread whilst searching for repairing said item. Took the bottom of to check for problems and can see no issues. Checked all 6 fuses are okay, can see no melted or blown bits, all wires connected and good. It is model with 4 transducers.

I also had the same problem on my PS 30A (the version with 3 transducers) and I'm trying to solve the problem. At the moment I have found some problems in the secondary pcb

fuse F1 blown and transistor Q1 defective.

Moreover I also found damage on one of the three piezolectric transducers

However I think there may be some other problem because I tried to disconnect the secondary IPC (which only controls the damaged transducer) but it doesn't work either.

someone suggested to me to test the resistances of the piezoelectric transducers

        Don't scrap it…

MEW 295 will ('subject to change&#39 have an article by Mark Noel on building the MEWSonic ultrasonic cleaning tank so you can either use most of the old one in a new build or learn enough to repair the old won with spares (Allendale sell spares and some of the parts use in MEWSonic).

          Neil,

You should have posted this yesterday. I bought a replacement several weeks ago from Machine-DRO but the local tat man came round today and I he had it along with a load of other stuff. Damn site easier than queuing at the local tip at present. Still need to go but not quite so urgent now.

I bought one a few years ago and from the start had the feeling that it didn't work very well, if at all. It was quite cheap and is fairly small so just assumed it was a gimmick. So stuck it in the cupboard where it's been ever since. I will fish it out and see if I can find anything wrong.

              Reviving a dead thread!

Can anyone tell me what voltage the heating element runs at (on a PS-10A)? Mines dead but there are no specs on the element and my electronics knowledge is somewhat lacking…

If you know the Wattage or Resistance, you can work out the Voltage required. You only need

                Ohm’s LawV = I R
