cam gears

Hi, I am considering building the Matador 10 cc four stroke by D Giles, or the Vega v twin.

Has anybody got information as to whether the cam gears for these engines are still available ?

Vega ones should not be a problem to get, Muffet are still going and you can also get 48DP from the likes of HPC

I need to dig out the matador drawings to see what it needs or if you can post the details that would save me looking.

Hi Kevan,

I am constructing the Vega Twin at the moment and I, like you was going to ask about the two gears. I have been on to HPC the gears I have ordered are G48 – 12 and  G 48 – 24. They will I need some machining but I think they will be OK.

HPC were very helpfull

I take it the G48-12 is a 48DP 12 tooth pinion, this is different to that as stated by Rod above, he goes for a 48-10 tooth, which is correct ?

Rod is giving details of the Matador, Alan & I gave details of the Vega which just used standard 48DP spur gears of 24/12T

Hi Emgee. The gears I have gone for are as stated on the plan for the Vega Twin. Is Rod giving you the size of gears for the Matador ?
