Does anybody know of a supplier of 3/16x 1/16 BMS strip. I need quite a few metres of it and I don't want to have to machine it to size.

      Many Thanks,

      Mark

Have a feeling that is not a stock size, most starting at 1/4 x 1/16 so you may have to resort to having it cut from sheet. Shearing will not be ideal on such a narrow width so look at lazer or waterjet cutting, if from sheet that will be 1.5mm or if the 1/16" is critical it will need to be cut from wider 1/16 flat stock.

Try Metal Supermarkets. I've never beaten them.

                Thanks for the inputs,

Have tried the links but unfortunately have drawn a blank.

It looks as if I'm going to have to continue machining from 1/4x 1/16

                  Mark,

If you go direct to the website you will need to select GB. They don't market to model engineers, but they often supply toolmakers etc. so are happy to deal with very small orders and my local one has a good stock of useful offcuts at <1/2 normal price. They even have a 'model engineers corner' of modest sized lighter offcut sections in the office.

I can't see the size you want but they have a bewildering array of flats in EN3 (but far fewer in EN1A).

For the metric doomsayers of the 1980s and before, I point out they have more imperial than metric sizes as well as using EN numbers

                    Mark,

Why not get it guillotined from 1/16" sheet? There are a number of companies that will supply sheet cut to size (eg http://www.m-machine-metals-co-uk).
