The vertical ball turner someone linked to a while back was better than the attempt I was making at the time ..so I scrapped mine and made it instead. It took this newbie a while. I made a couple of tiny mods.. a direct fitting qct holder and a base plate to prevent the gib strip moving. And I used cast iron bushings instead of the steel called for in the plan.



To engrave the indexing ring I had to create a simple indexing jig.. this was a block off ally squared off, cast iron bushes to hold a spindle interfernce fitted into the back of a DIY ER32 chuck with an indexing pin to hold the ally disc and a protecting nack washer. The pin can be located to three radii for further hole systems (or obviously new discs). It gets held in the mill vice either vertical or horizontally.
