10ba nuts

Why doesnt someone make some big 10ba nuts?? Theyre far too small and fidley for people like me who have sausage fingers! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Hi Fizzy,
Just buy some 1" hex bar and part slices off it then drill and tap them 10 BA If you also want them 1" long you may have difficulty finding a long enough 10 BA tap !

Put a piece of soft rubber tube over a bit of round bar with about 3 mm of tube free . Use to pick up small nuts and to start nuts on male threads .

I find a scriber (the ones with a scriber at either end, one at 90 degrees) comes in handy for placing small nuts on threads. Pick one up with the point, hold the tip against the thread, press your finger against the nut as you turn the bolt……or spin the nut with your finger onto a stud.

For picking things up, you can't beat one of those clawed pickup tools.

I cracked it in the end by threading the nut onto a 10ba bolt then transfering it…but prior to this it was impossible!!

I have parkinsons so find work like this very frustrating. but have devised all sorts of tricks including a little bit of blue tack on the end of a rod.
Needs must as they say

I use wooden cocktail sticks if I have problems holding small nuts. I cut the point off until the end will just press into the nut and give enough friction to hold it, then transfer to the end of the screw/bolt.
