Anyone here have and use the ELS conversion from electronicleadscrew.eu?  I’d like to connect with someone who uses it to help me sort through whether mine isn’t working correctly or whether I’m doing something wrong.  I am self taught so wouldn’t be surprised if I’m the issue!IMG_20260516_150920633_AE

If you are driving the screw via the front gearbox you will want the middle lever in position “A” which is 1:1

I have the single axis ELS and am impressed with it. You have the 2 axis module.  What seems to be the problem and do you have a smartphone where we could video share the problem ?

Also, I found the help from ELS very good as they can converse by E-mail in English although French is preferred.

Bob – Ps I have sent you a personal message

Jason, Don’t you need to “disconnect” all drive to the Leadscrew and Feed “screw” so that the stepper motor is driving the Leadscrew ?

So the left and right change levers should be in mid position ?

I would tend to agree with Speedy Builder, but it rather depends on where and how the z-axis lead screw is mounted and driven.  From the photo provided, I assume that it drives the lead screw directly or via a toothed belt drive at the tailstock end.  But that’s pure supposition on my part. What is the difficulty that you are experiencing exactly? More information, with more photos will help clarify the situation and hopefully lead to a solution.

I only have the single-axis version on my mini lathe and I find it easy to set up and any problems that I’ve had have been quickly addressed through an email exchange with the vendor.

I saw that the feed shaft had been removed so it would be possible to run the leadscrew from the left hand end via the gearbox. Leave it set in one direction on the left lever and use the ELS to alter the left/right. Middle lever in 1:1 as I said and right lever connecting the leadscrew as it is shown not the redundant feedshaft.

With it being two axis the feed shaft is not needed for power X feed so I would just extend the leadscrew out to the left end of the gearbox which eliminates any gear backlash and hide the motor inside the large geartrain cover.

Has the feed shaft been removed ?  What is the square silver thing in the photo below the leadscrew?  But as John said, a bit more info and photos please.

Might be a square shaft though most of this type have a round one with keyway.
