depends what and how long its not too bad to make pieces about 2 foot long if you make a planing box I made all my timber strips and cladding for my living van (2 inch) like that and the timber comes out within a few thou of the intended size. You need a good lack plane with a VERY SHARP blade.

Depends what sizes you are looking for, and where in the country you are based.

Local Timber merchant, independent DIY shop, or Joinery/Kitchen manufacturer would be a good choice. Builders Merchants and large chain DIY shed not such a good choice.

If it is just a few small bits that will fit in an envelope, or if you are near East Yorkshire, then I may be able to help, as Joinery Manufacture is my job.

(If you call it Engineered Wood, then no one can complain, that you have dared to mention the, “Brown Stuff” !!!)

          Mark.

Hi. I dont have the tools or materials.

            then.
I need the following (can provide drawing)
            i) tapered beading 10mm (tapered to 5mm) x 23mm (6qty x 1100mm)
            ii) strips 6mm x 10mm (6qty x 1100mm)

            Any ideas?

            dimensions of profile is 23mm x 10mm (slope to 5mm) – like a wedge shape. 1100mm long. I need 6 of these.

            Also I need some

            6mm x 10mm strips.

Do you have a Men in Sheds near you? Mostly they do wood rather than metal. Check at

Both these are fairly local to me and will machine to profile and send by courier

If 1100mm is the finished length, perhaps some extra length should be requested from the supplier as correct profile dimensions may be difficult to achieve at the very beginning or very end of the length when the stock enters or exits the machine.

It is possible to machine wood on a milling machine by setting up fences and pushing the stock past the cutter. Waxing the sliding surfaces makes movement easier. A hoover deals with the dust.

With no tools this is definitely a jobb for Jasons suggestion
