hi how do you repair water leaks on 3 1/2 gauge tender very hard to solder it right at the bulk head second skin in thanks dave

Hi David

There is a product on the market that seals motorcyle petrol tanks, its like a rubberised soultion available from ebay

I have spoken to people who have used it before and they say its good, but very smelly as it is a 2 part sollution, mix it and swill it around the tank.

I intend to use this as I want to put a steel tank on my sweet pea

Dave, I would suggest one of the epoxy petrol tank repair scemes, such as the POR-15 Cycle Tank Repair Kit, or the Permatex Fuel Tank Repair Kit, there are proberbly a number of others out there. If done properly, even if the tank/tender rusts away completely, it still won't leak. Just follow the instructions to the letter. Ian S C

For a smaller tank two-part fuel proofer for model aircraft would do the job – it's probaly the same sort of stuff, essentially an epoxy varnish.

Do a Google search for IsoFlex. It is a liquid rubber compound, ideally suited to sealing water tanks.

I poured glass fiber resin in mine, swished round and ran a drill down the outlet once dyr and no more leak
