            Agreed, Duncan … but I was a little surprised to see this note:

            ”Side view of the compensator attached to the pendulum. There's a bit of a wobble on the pendulum – needs straightening out.”

            When I thought it would be obvious to a ‘Vibration man’ that the wobble is more on the stack of aneroid capsules.

              As far as I can remember the aneroid stack is solid with the pendulum so it’s definitely a pendulum wobble. I’ve seen the clock a couple of times and it is very impressive.

                bottom member of the compensator, which is clamped to the pendulum, seems to have a rotational movement. as it's clamped to the pendulum that must have the same motion. Odder and Odder. Might just be an optical illusion of course.

                  Indeed it might … Strange things happen on web-cam videos

                  But it certainly looks [to me] like the stack flexing.

                    Might have been a Fred Dibnah episode about Big Ben

                    They used old pennies as temperature compensators on one of the weights

                      Ady1. They used pennies as temp. compensation on pendulum. I use 8BA washers on my Regulator for same purpose
