Haha. Yes my brother in law bought me some for a laugh. You have to bring the object nearly up to your eye, the magnification is amazing. If you get some do not look at your fingers through them. You can see every cell in your skin.

Steve Jordan on YouTube reviewed some a while back that looked reasonably good, the ones you're looking at are £4 something, postage, ebay fees, profit for seller, manufacturers profit, you're left with something you'd find in Christmas cracker.

Many years ago i bought a slightly more sophisticated version with lower mag for performing eye surgery. It also cost several hundred pounds back then. They do take a little getting used to when your own hands are within the field of view for accurate depth movements.
That pair came with the option of prescription lenses which would have made them person specific and rpevented other staff using them. When my eyesight deteriorated to needing glasses I had the local optician make me up a pair of specs with a flip-down extra mag lens pair for 3-4x mag. Much lighter to wear and more practical for the work I was doing switching between normal and extra mag.

But for under a fiver these have to be worth a punt.

Did you know, good magnification can be achieved by looking through binoculars in reverse. (One eye of course).

Ideal for detecting shrapnel in the finger ends etc.
