“Wanted” Big Boy 4884 3.5 True to Scale Services

Hi everyone,
I am looking to track down a set of drawings for the 3.5″ gauge Union Pacific Big Boy (4-8-8-4) originally published/sold by True to Scale Services out of Bromley, Kent.
As many of you know, this niche company is long defunct and these massive multi-sheet plans are completely out of print. I am highly motivated to find a copy to help with a project layout, but finding a set on standard commercial or auction sites has proven impossible.
I am looking for either:
An original physical roll of the drawing sheets that you are willing to part with.
A high-quality digital scan (PDF format).
A duplicate physical copy printed at a local drawing office.

I am more than happy to fully cover the cost of the drawings, any professional wide-format scanning/printing fees, and worldwide shipping to ensure a safe transaction.
If you have a set sitting in your workshop archives, or if you know a fellow builder who previously tackled this specific True to Scale design and might still hold the paperwork, please send me a private message or reply to this thread.

Could I suggest that you try a wanted advert on the Model Engineering Clearing House Proboards site, it is rather more locomotive orientated than this one. And of course the more exposure you give your request the more chance of success.

That answer if for the full size plans Michael, not the True to Scale ones the OP is seeking.

If the copyright holder is known then it should be possible to obtain a copy from them. If not as seems to be the case here and you can find someone with a set to reproduce then you are either into Bono Vacantia or Orphan Works territory depending on how the company became defunct. If only for discreet personal use then I doubt anyone would bother but if you are going to show them off then a bit of admin is required, the processes are described on gov.uk

The way I read it: “True To Scale” would [should] have obtained “permission to use” from the Copyright Holder.

I would have thought TTS did not need any permission as their drawings would not be the same design and we don’t know what they used to produce their drawings, could have been a man with a tape measure, some scaling of works drawings or just doing it like I do and working from photos.

What would be under copyright are the 3.5″ design and drawings TTS produced and that is what the OP wants.

Is it most likely that the drawings were originally produced in America? have any been built? Perhaps asking on the HSM forum would yield more results.
Also nowadays there are probably some websites, forums, facebooks, etc dedicated to this loco.
