Can anybody help with the identification of this item?

Looks to be made from a set of castings.

I think it is a tool cutter grinder rest.

Was there a M.E. or M.E.W. article about it?

      More pictures in Kens album

      Thanks

      Ken

Yes, it was in MEW early on IIRC. I can't remember the source of castings, I bought one and found it pretty duff to be honest, though that might have been my unskilled manufacture!  I seem to recall it's being called the Hart Grinding Rest.

            (maybe off topic)

Ken – I completed a Worden T&C grinder from the Hemingway kit a while ago, but one resolve for 2017 is to learn to actually use it, as it is a belief of mine that sharp, accurate tooling might lead to better honesty on my part.

I did use the Worden to sharpen an internal carbide threading tool last night, and used it for two M22x1 threads, and it all worked out better than expected.

My advice (worth what you paid for it) is to set it up and learn how to use it.

That's the one John H well remembered.

In MEW nos 21 and 22 back in Jan/Feb, Mar/Apr 1994.  Castings from Hart Engineering, Rhosddu, Wrexham.

Only when nobody is looking. Which is like, never..
