Just looking through a collection of lathe tools in a box and found an adaptor that holds 2 MT. The problem is that I don't know what the outside taper is despite trawling through numerous tables.

The large diameter is approx. 1.435", small dia is 0.795" and the distance between them is around 1.250"

Does any one have an idea what the name of the taper is? The adaptor is clearly professionally made but has no marking on it.

It sounds like a taper for a headstock to allow a center to be fitted into the headstock for turning between centers. Possibly Harrison 4.5 Morse OD.

How accurate were your approx measurements? From the ‘net, NMTB Series have a 16 degree (32 degrees included angle).
