Is there anyway to stop getting an email everytime someone replies to a thread?

Deleting twenty emails a day is getting tedious!

Hi Chris, if you click Bookmarks in to top (green) menu bar, this will show you all the threads you have selected to get an email from when the thread is updated, just delete the ones you don't want notifications from.

You must have set it up to be notified of any new posts in a thread, I don't get any.

            Beaten to it.

If you look below the 'post a reply' box you will see a checkbox "Send me email notifications when someone replies to this thread (This will add the thread to your Bookmarks list)"

              The list is HERE

You must have checked the box at some point. It's useful for people seeking advice or following a topic etc.

You can also switch notifications of PMs on and off in settings– > my account.

Yes I normally select the notification option. I get an email for every reply though, every other forum I get one email no matter how many replies. Without notification I'd never remember to check the threads.

Duee to the way my email account works I have to delete the same emails on both my phone and ipad.

In some ways its a pity there is no daily digest option, as in Yahoo groups, here as it does seriously reduce E-Mail clutter. Disadvantage of the digest is that quick interactive response isn't possible so sometimes things get very disjointed in a hot thread with considerable separation between a post and a response. The well known law means that such separation includes partial and cross purposed responses which can be a bit confusing when you only have a pure linear timeline presentation.

I'm not sure that the "Daily Digest" format is what Chris is referring to here. Some forums send one email to let you know that there has been one, or several, responses to a thread – then no further emails until after the next time that you log on and view the thread.

I can can reduce the emails by 50% by changing email address I guess!
